A well-stocked first aid kit can help you respond effectively to common injuries, minor illnesses and emergencies. Keep at least one first-aid kit in your home. Store your kits in an easy-to-retrieve location. The kit can be a collapsible lunch box or other like container. You can purchase first-aid supplies for your kit at The Student Health Center Pharmacy and charge the items to your student bill.

Contents of a good first-aid kit should include, but not limited to:

  • Band-Aids – multiple sizes
  • Ibuprofen – for minor aches and pains
  • Tylenol – for pain and fever
  • Imodium – for diarrhea
  • Zyrtec-D – for allergies with nasal congestion
  • Sore Throat Spray – for acute sore throats
  • Mucinex DM – for congestion and cough
  • Bonine – for motion sickness and nausea
  • Triple Antibiotic Ointment – prevents minor infections from cuts
  • Hydrogen Peroxide – to clean minor cuts and abrasions
  • Thermometer – to check and see if you have a fever
  • Benadryl Capsules – for allergic reactions
  • Benadryl Cream – for topical allergic reactions
  • Flonase – nasal spray for allergies
  • Aloe Vera Gel – for sunburns
  • Hand Sanitizer – for hygiene
